ABOUT THE ESPERANCE DISTRICT FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
Celebrating Esperance Football
Football can unite, inspire and enthrall. For many, the local oval will be the height of their fame. But for some Esperance footballers they have, or will, leave the district and join the elite to kickstart their career that could take them around Australia.
Football in Esperance isn't all about producing the next AFL star - it is an outlet for many to enjoy the game they love and its the social atmosphere, be it as a player, umpire, coach, water boy, runner volunteer or spectator.
If you are one of the thousands who have played or contributed to football in our community, remember ... each time you arrive on game day, you are part of something special.

Football has been a massive sporting and community outlet in the Esperance and surrounding areas dating back to 1897, followed by the Mallee Football Association in 1925 and Esperance District Football Association in 1956.
From a high of a 7 team competition in 1983, we have shrunk to our 4 team competition but have now included 4 senior women's teams to our clubs. The 4 clubs we have are the Esperance Bulldogs, the Newtown - Condingup Lions, the Ports Blues and the Gibson Tigers.
